Dagon! Ia! Ia!

I will start this all off with one of my favorites.

Dagon.

Such a great movie! Anyone that is a fan of Lovecraft should definitely watch this movie!

Stuart Gordon manages to mangle the hell out of this story. But that's not a bad thing in all honesty. Actually, all he does is mixes two stories into one; Dagon and The Shadow Over Innsmouth. If he had stuck to just Dagon, the movie would have ended up being less than 5 minutes long, since the story is only 3 pages long.

The acting, considering the budget, is top notch. The special effects are amazing. The atmosphere and cinematography are exactly as I envision while reading Lovecraft.

Paul Marsh (Ezra Godden) and his fiance Barbara are cruising off the coast of Spain on Howard and Vicki's yacht (presumably two of their good friends). As they are doing so, a storm comes up, forces their yacht onto a conveniently placed rock, and starts it sinking. Paul and Barbara row to shore to get help, and end up in the town of Imboca (Innsmouth in Spanish?) where the nightmare really begins.

Who's on first?

I finally broke down and decided to start my Lovecraft movie blog. Right now, I'm preparing notes. Expect to see reviews for Dagon, Necronomicon, and In the Mouth of Madness soon!
